Hanna Basha

Partner

Profile

Hanna trained at Denton Wilde Sapte, qualifying in 1999 and moving to Schillings in 2000.  In 2002 she moved to Carter-Ruck, becoming a partner in 2006 and, in the same year, qualifying as a solicitor-advocate.  Hanna left Carter-Ruck in 2011 to join Eddie Parladorio and Simon Smith at PSB Law LLP.

Hanna specialises in defamation, privacy and sports law, as well as more general media litigation and acts for a wide range of clients including celebrities, high profile individuals, businessmen, sportsmen, football clubs, private equity companies, film companies and other corporations.  As well as representing clients in court, she provides legal and practical reputation and crisis management advice when clients are faced with more extensive press scrutiny, working closely with their external and in-house public relations advisers.  Hanna has had considerable success preventing publication of information about her clients, either by negotiation with newspapers or by applying to Court for an injunction, often on an emergency basis.  Before becoming a partner at Carter-Ruck, Hanna was one of the first assistant solicitors to be listed in Chambers and Partners as an ‘up and coming individual’ and was described as having “an instinctive feel for defamation law”.  She has remained in Chambers and Partners ever since.

Hanna Basha is exceptionally talented and supportive; she is a formidable individual (Chambers and Partners 2011)
