Simon Smith

Simon trained at Mishcon De Reya, qualifying in 1994 and moving to Schillings in 1996.  He became a partner in 1999 and the firm’s managing partner in 2003.  In 2010 Simon resigned to establish his own firm before setting up PSB Law LLP where he is now partners with Eddie Parladorio, Hanna Basha and Magnus Boyd.

Simon specialises in defamation, privacy and copyright, as well as general litigation with a media focus.  He is an experienced trial lawyer and has been involved in groundbreaking cases in privacy and intellectual property matters. His practical experience is enhanced by his underlying knowledge of the field; he is the author of Sweet & Maxwell’s commissioned intellectual property title Image, Persona and The Law (2nd Edition, 2008). The Lawyer magazine said of him in 2010:  “Smith, who literally wrote the book on reputation management, penning ‘Image, Persona & The Law’ in his spare time, has amassed some stunning victories for his clients”.  He is ranked in The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, which publication stated in the 2009/2010 edition that “Simon Smith has ‘a wonderfully incisive mind’, and is ‘incredibly fast at getting hold of the issues’”.

Simon Smith is extremely knowledgeable about his subject, fights very hard for his clients and is eminently fair (Chambers and Partners 2011).
